Sworn to serve and protect…
What do all frontline police officers, deputy sheriffs and state law enforcement officers in Florida have in common? All have completed a Basic Recruit Program as required by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission. This certification ensures that the public is served by officers who are ethical, qualified and well-trained.
Through our Law Enforcement Certification Program, you can meet the minimum standards for employment as a frontline officer in a police department, sheriff’s office or state law enforcement agency. TCC’s Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy offers certification to those who are committed to enforcing the laws through daily interaction with the public.
Firefighters are the community’s first line of defense against loss of life and property. In addition to fighting fires, they are often the first responders in a medical emergency. Firefighters take decisive action under difficult circumstances, perform strenuous physical tasks and have a strong commitment to public service. Firefighting is one of the most challenging—and most respected— professions. Learn how to build a career in firefighting through TCC’s Tallahassee Fire Academy.
